As I reported earlier, I really enjoyed my time on Celebrity Edge. Mike and I are already counting down the days to our next cruise on board – we have even already reserved our dinners, excursions, and a massage.Traditionally speaking, there is no library on the Edge, no game/card room, no daily crosswords, Sudoko, etc, on Edge and trivia games are played on your smartphone/ iPhone/iPad, etc. This will certainly turn off long time Celebrity Cruse Line cruisers but won’t bother most of their new clientele who Celebrity is clearly marketing this ship towards.
Shops on Edge are primarily upscale, Tiffany, etc. No $10 aisle of scarves/purses/knick-knacks/jewely etc. There is no Sky Lounge on Celebrity Edge, as the forward third of the top of the ship is now exclusively for Suites cabins, including the Retreat area-so you can no longer walk around the bow.
While Mike and I LOVED our Infinite Veranda was the biggest disappointment of all of the complaints I have had feedback on about this ship. It’s not a true balcony- moreso a little room with a window with 2 chairs and a little table that admittedly we didn’t use- but we did keep our window open almost all of the time we were in our stateroom. I think it is very important to point out- this option is NOT a true balcony. More accurately, it’s and ocean view room with a working window.
Other than that- the innovations found on board are truly remarkable. It was an incredibly relaxing experience with some of the very best customer service at sea. Our meals were delicious and fresh. Our stateroom kept immaculate. 377 days until we sail Celebrity Edge again… not that I am counting 😉
