A Last Minute Summer Sojourn in WDW, A Trip Report- A Grand Evening

Nothing is better than arriving to your Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Nothing. Well, any Disney Destination vacation…. but this is just so stinkin’ easy…

Upon arrival to Orlando International Airport, we headed to Disney’s Magical Express- bypassing retrieving our bags (as part of this service, Disney retrieves your checked luggage and delivers them to your resort).

Headed to the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa for 5 nights, we were inside our resort within about an hour after we landed- not too shabby. Our room was ready once we arrived, #8224 inside building 8, Boca Chica. We were on the second floor, with a lovely pool/resort view.

Once we checked everything out, we headed to Gasparilla’s for dinner.

After dinner, we headed out to the marina for some drinks, dessert, and an amazing view of Happily Ever After (we made our own dessert party!). This new fireworks spectacular is just outstanding- watching it this way, we truly could appreciate the fireworks element of the show- which is spectacular! Hearts, stars, a spaceship, and even the Heart of Te Fiti from Moana lit up the sky!

After fireworks, we strolled a bit inside the Grand’s main building…

On our way back, Mike and I stopped inside Sandy Cove Gifts and Sundries to check out their magical selection of wine…

Once we were back in our room, our bags had been delivered and our beds were turned down. The kids took turns showering while Mike and I enjoyed our purchase on our balcony. Time to relax, we had a very magical day planned tomorrow!
