A Last Minute Summer Sojourn in WDW, A Trip Report- A Wild Night Inside Animal Kingdom

I was on a mission to get to Animal Kingdom to meet my family inside Pandora. Truth be told, I did have some guilt they hadn’t seen Pandora yet and I had already fully experienced just about everything Pandora had to offer, except sharing it with my family.

I hustled and got there pretty quickly considering how far Animal Kingdom is from The Grand Floridian. I was walking through the gates by 6pm – the session was only just before 5pm (and yes, I took Disney’s bus transportation).

I headed right to Pandora as my family was getting paired with a banshee!

From there the kids made their own Avatars!

By now it was time to use our Fast Passes for the Na’vi River Journey, which is just beautiful…IMG_1571IMG_1578 IMG_1581We had to return back to Pandora later in the night to pick up the avatars, so we headed to Expedition Everest…

We then headed back to Pandora as the sun was setting and everyone could experience Pandora at night…

From here the girls wanted to try Expedition Everest again at night, while Mike and I took Mikey on Kilimanjaro Safaris. The girls were quicker than we were and headed to Dinoland for a spin on Dinosaur. We met them there so Mikey could ride Primeval Whirl with the girls and Mike, I sat that one out with the bags 😉 We chose to not wait for Flight of Passage inside Pandora tonight as the Fast Passes weren’t one we could grab for all of us and the wait times exceeded two hours. We will be back in November and will ride then. We also chose to skip Rivers of Light to ride a few more attractions- we saw Rivers of Light on it’s first public showing and absolutely loved it- but we will save that until our next evening inside Animal Kingdom as well.

After a minimal wait for a bus back to the Grand Floridian everyone was so excited to tell me even more about their day- Mike took the kids to Disney Springs’ Planet Hollywood for lunch and then they had dinner inside Rainforest Cafe inside Animal Kingdom after exploring and shopping in Disney Springs for a bit. We chatted quite a while as everyone took turns washing up before bed.

Mikey couldn’t help but pose his Avatar with his perched banshee…

What a LONG day… but I really couldn’t have been happier by the end of it!
