A Last Minute Summer Sojourn in WDW, A Trip Report- Narcoossee’s Waterfront Brunch

After sleeping in a bit longer than we could any other morning, we were all relieved my oldest daughter felt well enough to continue to our brunch plans today at Narcoossee’s.

We were very excited to try this once a week (only on Sunday’s) meal held inside a separate building, right on the waterfront of The Grand Floridian. Believe it or not, the kids were even excited about dressing up and trying something new. Mike and I were certainly looking forward to it as well- it would give us all the chance to take a breather and enjoy each other after such a crazied week.

Our reservation was at 11:30 and we were all ready to leave early…

Now, I am going to be honest, we weren’t on the meal plan (this would be 2 table service credits per person) so we were paying $70 per person (yes, Mikey is 10 years old and a Disney adult now) and we weren’t entirely sure this would be a great value for us. Our server, Angela, let us know that we were permitted to order as much or as little as we would like. Multiple appetizers, entrees, drinks were all included in that per person price. Angela was able to make suggestions to make Mikey more comfortable ordering off the adult menu vs the kids’ menu (which he was permitted to order from if he chose to) and enhance our entire experience. To say this was our family’s absolute favorite way to spend a Sunday on Disney property…. would be an understatement.

EVERYTHING was prepared and served to perfection.

We started with smoothies, a Bloody Mary and Prosecco. Mike’s Bloody Mary was served with it’s own plate!

Next came pastries with Hibiscus Flower Butter and Jam.

We ordered ALL of the appetizers-

Salmon Rillette with Fine Herbs Bavarois served with Whole-Grain Cranberry Baguettes

Shrimp and Grits (Creamy Antebellum Grits, Green Tomato Chow-Chow, and Cherrywood-smoked Bacon)

IMG_1735

Artisanal Cheeses (Four tasting portions from around the world with Prosciutto and other accompaniments)

My favorite, Brentwood Corn and Crab Soup (Creamy Sweet Corn Bisque with Lump Crab and Roasted Corn)

Seriously, just when you didn’t think you could eat more, entrees arrive. These were all outstanding!

Four of us got Steak and Eggs (Black Angus Hanger Steak, Two Cage-free Brown Eggs- we chose to scramble, Marble Potato Home Fries, and Truffle Aïoli)

Mikey ordered the Chicken and Waffles, which came with 3 chicken nuggets on a Waffle with the Maple Bacon-Bourbon Jam and  House-made Apple Butter on the side. He LOVED it!

For the table, we ordered the Brioche French Toast

and our ABSOLUTELY FAVORITE (seriously, we should have ordered 4 of these),  Lobster Eggs Benedict- Toasted homemade Muffin, Butter-poached Maine Lobster, Country Ham, Soft-poached Eggs, and Citrus Hollandaise. Words cannot describe this. ALL OF US LOVED this and we just really had enough for a mouthful each of us.

We were ready to leave at this point, when Angela came with 2 amazing Trio of Desserts plates with Valencia Blood Orange Bar, Triple Chocolate Cake (topped with edible gold), Lemon-Blueberry Timbale PLUS a Nemo cupcake for Mikey!

So yes, this was an absolutely incredible time spent with our family indulging in some of the most delicious food we have ever had. If you ever have the opportunity to try Narcoossee’s for brunch, all 5 of us cannot recommend you try it enough. Just go- it is more than worth it!
