A Magical Mediterranean Cruise, Day 3- Embarkation Day

After a midnight run to McDonalds, everyone slept well and was up early for a quick breakfast in the lounge before heading off to board the Disney Magic.

If anyone truly know me- if cheese fries are ever an option, I need them. I skipped these when we first visited McD’s, as these aren’t offered in the USA, but when Mike offered to make a late night run- I wasn’t going to miss my chance to try them again! So good….

Taxis were a plenty outside out hotel- so no problem hailing one large enough to bring us quickly to the port.

Once inside, the lines were not as long as they we remembered them to be in Port Canaveral- but now this was the Disney Magic- a much smaller ship than the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy- who are usually in Port Canaveral. Once inside, we went through security and were handed our Daily Navigator as we waitied on line to meet Captain Mickey Mouse. Next it was time to check in, my last time not standing on the Platinum Line, we received our boarding group number that was already boarding so we won’t have any wait at all get board, and took a few more pictures…

After walking on board, we headed right to Cabanas for lunch:

Something new to us- sinks to wash your hands vs Cast Members handing out wipes. There are still Cast Members there guiding guests to wash before enjoying the buffet- but this seems more enviromentally and economically sensible.

The food selection was amazing, as always!

After lunch, it was time to head to our staterooms. Now, we had booked connecting Navigator Verandah staterooms. Two weeks prior, we got a call from Disney Cruse Line letting us know our rooms needed maintenance and they wanted to moved us a few rooms down the hall, in connecting typical verandah staterooms. Of course, we took the upgrade!

We were all thirsty, so we took a walk up to deck 9 and were surprised to see Flamenco Dancers performing on the stage!

After enjoying the performance, and some ice cream- we headed to the safety drill and then back to deck 9. We made a pit stop at Frozone’s for drinks for the kids and Mike & I indulged in a Miami Vice from the poolbar. Next up- the Sail Away Party!

Next we needed to head back to our room and prepare for dinner- tonight we were dining inside the brand new Rapunzel’s Royal Table!
