Today we started our day with a character breakfast inside the Grand Californian (a resort we have now totally fallen in love with) at Storyteller’s Cafe.
Today we met Kenai from Brother Bear:
We also met Dale:
Breakfast was delicious- especially the french toast!
After breakfast it was time to enter a second park before everyone else, this time Disney’s California Adventure Park!
Once inside, Lo and Michael led us to Paradise Pier…
Just so beautiful and already feels like it is bursting with energy this early in the morning!
Once all of the oohhh and ahhhs were spoken, we headed over to Toy Story Mania!
I didn’t think I did too bad…
But… our Adventure Guide, Michael, put us all to shame!
Then it was on to Tower of Terror- which is actually being re-imagined next year as Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!:
The girls, Mike and I rode while Mikey and another group of adventurers rode Monster’s, Inc. Mike & Sully to the Rescue. We all met back in Hollywood Land- that was bustling by then as the park had just opened.
Next was a tour of this park’s “castle”, Cathay Circle. It is just simply beautiful, especially during the Diamond Celebration.
Once you enter, you walk into the Carthay Circle Lounge…
One of the very few- if not the only- picture of Walt Disney holding a cigarette.
Once upstairs in the restaurant, everything becomes a bit more ornate.
Can you see a hint of an Evil Queen in the wood grain?Nearby, you will come across the entrance to Club 1901. Club 1901 is a very exclusive club, similar to Club 33 inside Disneyland, but only Platinum and Executive members of Club 33 are permitted.
Next we needed to get ready to race! But first it was time for some more backstage magic…
