After a well deserved night’s rest, we had breakfast in our hotel and prepared to leave on our flight to Lima. However, when we arrived at the airport and passed through security- our Adventure Guides were informed our flight was delayed. No information about how long it will be delayed or why…. 4 hours later we took off for Lima. The hour-long flight was smooth, and we were served a sandwich and a corn muffin with a drink.
Upon landing, we headed straight for a late lunch/early dinner at Casa Aliaga. This is a beautiful colonial haunted mansion located right next to the Presidential Palace. As we entered, there was a band playing and drinks and passed appetizers were served to us. The buffet was exceptionally good, and the company was even better. We have become such great friends on this trip- it was bitter-sweet to be saying goodbye so soon.
After our delicious meal, we were treated to a tour of the city by our guide, Ernesto. It was as if we all lingered a bit longer to really take in everything we experienced during our stay.
After a little less than an hour, we headed to our orignal resort in Lima, Miraflores Casa Andina Private Collection. At the hotel, that with the delay we only had an hour and a half to use, we were able to shower and rest before heading back to the Lima airport.
As we were waiting to board our plane, we both were so greatfull for the new and wonderful friends we had made in Peru. Their knowledge and expertise of what they do and how they do it has made this an enormous educational trip for us in terms of how to help sell these magical vacations to families and adults who want to become totally immersed in the culture where they are visiting.
