Today is parade day! The girls would be marching up Main Street USA! So exciting and a true dream come true for them as they have been watching Walt Disney World parades since before they could walk. The girls needed to meet their teams and coaches by 10:30am. So, we decided to eat a bit of breakfast at the hotel before meeting everyone.
The girls were already inside the Magic Kingdom when we arrived.
Once inside we ran into the Move It! Shake It! Dance & Play It! Street Party…
We walked past the castle… always beautiful…
To meet the girls, being girls…
Before we knew it, it was time to watch the parade, we took position on top of the train station at the end of Main Street USA…
Disney’s PhotoPass Photographers also captured the day for us <3
The Sparklers representing Long Island, NY:
From a parent’s perspective- it was quite surreal to me, watching my teenage daughters’ dreams come true right in front of me. A dream, they both will admit, has been one they can never remember not having. Every trip- we have watched parades in either Walt Disney World or in Disneyland (they still give me a hard time we missed the afternoon parade in Disneyland- it’s certainly an excuse to go back!). We don’t skip parades to ride attractions- we watch parades, sing along, and wave back to those walking and dancing in the route. Now they were one of those performers and it was so much more than any magical moment I have ever experienced before.
After the parade, the rains came- pretty heavily too. We met the girls and quickly rushed to a parked car at the Transportation and Ticket Center where the girls could grab a change of clothes and get ready so we could then head back into the Magic Kingdom to enjoy the rest of the day.
