The day our family has been waiting for- our “veg” day! The rest of our group headed out early to tour Pearl Harbor and we elected to stay behind.
We woke up, I made everyone breakfast, and while Mike attended to some business on the phone back in NY- the kids and I headed down to find us a home base for the day downstairs by the pools. We settled on a spot with a gorgeous view of the beach and a short walk to the pools…
This was such a relaxing day for us, which was exactly what we needed at this point in the trip. We signed the kids up to snorkel Rainbow Reef (the only private snorkeling lagoon on Oahu that just happens to be at Aulani) and they were all ready at feeding time for the fish!
We had lunch poolside and our first Dole Whips of the trip! What are Dole Whips?!?!? Dole Whips are a soft serve ice cream pineapple flavored dessert that you can find in select spots in Disneyland and Walt Disney World. A short time before our arrival- they popped up in Aulani!
We prefer swirling the Pineapple with Vanilla. 🙂
Later that afternoon, Mikey and I played Connect 4 on the beach…
We even went to a pool party with Goofy!
Not wanting the day to end, we walked at bit on the beach at sunset…
That night for dinner, we had a group reservation for sushi at Roy’s across the street- however, this was also a night that the Starlit Hui was being preformed. We chose to stay back to catch the show- except for our middle child, Katie, who loves sushi! She went with the rest of our group while Mike, Jacqueline , Mikey, and I grabbed dinner at Ulu Cafe and headed to the lawn to see the show.

Then it was time for the show! The Aulani Starlit Hui’s Preshow starts at 7:30. Unfortunately, we missed it but we there in plenty of time for the 8pm start time. Our family was given a mat to sit on the lawn and really enjoyed the stories and music of the night…
