Everyone knows how much I LOVE Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, Fall certainly is a magical time to visit Walt Disney World. That said, in 33 days I will be checking into the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa for 3 nights AFTER the party is over.
I am heading down without my family this time, to attend my last Disney’s EarMarked Travel Advisory Council meeting. The Council is made up of 20 travel agency owners and managers who are appointed by Disney leadership to represent the diversity of agencies in Disney’s EarMarked Program. The council serves as a sounding board in Disney’s Travel Agency Sales and Travel Industry Marketing teams, representing the voice of the Authorized Disney Vacation Planners. Yes, it isn’t all fun and games… our meetings in Walt Disney World, Disneyland and on our Adventures by Disney trip to Italy were such AMAZING opportunities, but there is always a sense of business involved. Besides, as a travel planner- it is really hard to ever actually take a leisure vacation even when there isn’t any formal business to take care of.
I have never stayed in the Grand Floridian before, Mike and I had always meant to but for whatever reason, it hasn’t been the best fit for any of our trips yet. It is quite formal, and very grand. Of course, I am sure we will end up here at some point- so far, I have stayed at 12 Walt Disney World resorts of their 27, making this lucky number 13.
The detail is just outstanding…
I will be arriving in time for meetings and a reception on our first day. The next day is again, full of meetings with an evening planned in Epcot with dinner in Via Napoli with some of my colleagues- a nod to our trip to Italy. This also gives us a chance to check out the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival…
The next day is again, fulled with meetings (I really wasn’t kidding when I said it isn’t all fun and games), with dinner inside Animal Kingdom theme park. We were treated to some some of what Animal Kingdom has to offer at night the last time we met in the Spring. This time, I am looking forward to experiencing it it now in the fall.
Then it is time to pack up and head home… stay tuned for updates on Castle Dreams Travel’s Facebook page and a full report here once I return!
