New Adventures by Disney for 2012

Adventures by Disney has announced two new tours available next year, Greece: “Greek Odyssey” and Northern France: “Esprit de France“. Athens, Santorini and Crete are visited during the new “Greek Odyssey” tour beginning in Athens where you can visit the Parthenon the home of the modern Olympics, Panathinaiko Stadium.  The tour continues on the volcanic island of Santorini where kids get to go feet- first into Greek grape stomping while adults enjoy a wine tasting at Volcan winery. After sailing the Aegean Sea, families travel to Crete and are immersed in mountain culture with local expert-led lessons in Tsatziki cheese making and Greek dancing. My husband and I have been fortunate enough to visit Greece, and it is truly amazing to see all of the wonders that still exist from centuries ago. The people though, are so inviting and friendly- truly a wonderful experience for those who visit!

Paris, Normandy and Loire Valleyare visited during the “Esprit de France” tour.  Here families visit Monet’s Gardens, a Château du Clos Luce, the last known residence of Leonardo da Vinci, and enjoy a private dinner at the Louvre in Paris. Adventurers can also learn of the art of brandy-making on the Normandy Cider Route; enjoy a picturesque country bike ride and spend the night in an authentic Château. You can continue the
adventure with visits to Versailles, Mont Saint-Michel monastery, Omaha Beach and a viewing of the Bayeux Tapestry.

Discovery Down Under”  is a new tour in Australia and Tasmania. This
adventure will now include a visit to the island of Tasmania featuring a Eucalyptus forest zip line experience, and include an introduction to traditional cuisine at Kate’s Berry Farm and Meadowbank Winery as well as a visit to the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary to meet the infamous Tasmanian Devil.

Grandiosos Galapagos” is a new tour in the Galapagos Islands. Families are treated with seven nights aboard the Galapagos Explorer cruise ship. Here you will have the opportunity to swim and snorkel with sea lions and penguins and come face to face with giant tortoises!

Cities of Knights and Lightsvisits London and Paris, this classic Adventure by Disney tour now features a trip to the British Countryside where you can play British lawn games and take a privately-guided tour of Windsor Castle, summer home of the British Royal family.

Also announced is a new tour visiting Egypt, Pyramids, Pharaohs & Ancient
Treasures
which visits Cairo, Aswan, Luxor, the Nile and Sharm El Sheikh. Here you visit the famous pyramids and mummies with a camelback tour of the Great Pyramids of Giza and a Nile River cruise to Luxor. Kids will LOVE the new Junior Adventurer scavenger hunt at the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities. Activities like papyrus making,
traditional cooking, and hieroglyphic writing give you a first-hand view of life in ancient Egypt. My husband and I have also been fortunate enough to visit Egypt, and the experience left us awe struck. Plus the shopping… we came home with plenty of amazing things!
