On Sunday, July 8th we were fortunate to be asked to tour the Disney Magic while she was docked in NYC.
As you board the ship, you are instantly welcomed into a sleek, boutique hotel. The atrium area is much smaller than the areas we reviewed on the Fantasy prior in March and gives you a totally different feel as well. You are greeted by Helmsman Mickey in front of the art deco elevators and below the enormous glass ceiling’s centerpiece designed for the ship by Dale Chihuly.
Check out the hidden Mickeys!
Details are even found in the carpeting:
Just off to either side of the lobby, behind the elevators you will find Guest Services, which is open 24 hours:
On the opposite side you will find the Port Adventures desk:
Behind Helmsman Mickey, you will find Lumiere’s (themed after the Disney movie, Beauty and the Beast). Lumiere’s is a Main Dining restaurant which is one of 3 you would rotate through throughout your cruise. Here you will find breakfast and lunch in a more casual setting, and French-inspired cuisine for dinner to fit the theming.
Stay tuned for more of our tour and luncheon on board! And for more information about cruising on the Magic, including sailing from$499 PER PERSON IN SEPTEMBER from New York to Canada on the Disney Magic, please contact Castle Dreams Travel .
