Walt Disney World Package Price Increases and Changes Plus Resort Room Fee Rumors

It has been a very busy day for those planning Walt Disney World vacations today! Lots of changes implemented and here is a rundown…

The Walt Disney World theme park ticket prices increased on stand-alone tickets on February 28, but this price increase was not reflected in the Walt Disney Travel Company packages until today.  In addition, the Magic Your Way Quick Service Dining Plan; the Magic Your Way Plus Dining Plan and the Magic Your Way Plus Deluxe Dining Plan did have a price increase that occurred today, of what we are guessing to be between 2% and 3%. That said, Disney has not announced the new rates or what the percentage of increase was.

In addition, 1-Day Tickets are no longer an option when booking a Walt Disney Travel Company package to the Walt Disney World Resort. You may continue to book a Walt Disney Travel Company package with choice of ticket length from 2 to 10 days. Packages booked prior to March 9, 2016 that are paid in full, have the required deposit(s) or are on a 3-day courtesy hold will not be affected unless modified to a new package.

Guests booking or modifying a reservation arriving within 7 days will no longer be charged a $15 service fee for document delivery. A $15 service fee will only be charged if you are booking or modifying a reservation and your arrival date is between 8-14 days (in order to cover the cost of expediting documents to your home.).

It also has been published that Walt Disney World guests have been asked survey questions regarding adding a $15 resort fee, per night of their stay to cover things like Magic Bands, Fast Pass+, WiFi, etc.  Nothing has been announced if/when this resort fee will be added to guest stays as it is just a survey question, but the peak vs non-peak ticket issue was “just a survey” a few short months ago….
