WUWTM Recommends… Walt Disney World Value Resorts

More often than not, guests planning a trip ask, “Which resort would you recommend?”  Choosing a resort in completely individualized and really depends on your family’s wants and needs. That being said, I posed the question to the travel agents at Castle Dreams Travel about Walt Disney World’s Value Resorts.

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort’s Little Mermaid rooms were very popular with the agents. Not for the rooms necessarily, but for the grounds! The agents LOVE the theming (I do too) and pools (The Nemo pool is the biggest on property and the Cars pool has adorable Cone shaped cabanas that are first come, first served and are offered at no additional fee) and the food court is fabulous. It is important to keep on mind, one of the “cons” to the Little Mermaid rooms are too far a walk from main building for some guests and discounts are almost always not extended to these rooms.

Another very popular suggestion was All Star Movies Resort because of the larger than life Disney characters here as well. Preferred location rooms, specifically the Toy Story section are at the top of the “most wanted” list at All Star Movies- in which you can request but it isn’t guaranteed when you reserve a preferred room. If you go to the parks for opening time, the All Stars each have their own dedicated bus at that time of day, as well as closing time, so no worries about a full bus passing you by (All Star Sports is the first on the bus line when the resorts share buses) ! Another “pro” for this resort is that discounts can usually be applied to this resort, making it quite economical. Disney’s Pop Century is a another very close runner up to Movies, in Preferred rooms- this resort has a dedicated bus all day long to the parks and Disney Springs!

Something else to consider, most of these rooms sleep 2-4 people. There are either two double beds or one king size bed in each room that measures about 260 square feet. The only exceptions are the family suites that can be found in All Star Music Resort and Art of Animation Resort, these sleep 6 in 3 beds (1 king size bed and 2 double beds).
